Crushing & Screening Plants

Dry Fog Dust Suppression

Dry fog systems that eliminate dust at the source on crushers, screens and conveyor transfer points — capturing airborne dust with micron-sized droplets and almost no added moisture.

Dry fog offers an effective alternative to conventional extraction, particularly suited to surface crushing and screening plants handling products such as coal, aggregate and limestone.

At the heart of the system is a highly efficient atomizing nozzle. The nozzles use compressed air to atomize water into a dense cloud of micron-sized droplets in the 7–10 micron range. Because the droplets are approximately the same size as the dust particles, they impinge onto one another; as more mass is obtained, the agglomerated particles gradually fall out — without adding excessive water to the product.

The systems are of robust design, suitable for most surface and underground applications. Typical installations control dust on crushers, screens and conveyor transfer points, and are supplied complete with all the controls necessary for automatic operation.

Benefits: low water consumption, low water addition to product, low cost installation, and low maintenance costs.
